Having the kids out of school has been great fun, but I find I'm a better mother when I've got the boys out of the house, which means I haven't had much of a chance to sit down, clear my thoughts and create something new.
It feels so completely therapeutic. I wish I could do this everyday.

I'm amazed!! how do you find the time to create with two children?
I, too, began making jewellery as a form of therapy after a stressful day at work. I had initially tried knitting but after my lame attempt at making a scarf, I gave up. I found knitting too slow. I prefer a faster turn around time like making a necklace in an hour or two as opposed to a scarf in a month, or two.
Late nights and caffeine. Lots of it!
I tend to go on these little creative blitzes where I make all kinds of things at once and then I might not be able to make something for another month.
I've always wanted to try knitting too!
LOL! I see. So caffeine does the trick. I'm not a coffee drinker which would explain why I have such a hard time waking up in the morning. I'm not a morning person.
There are some great knitting books that you can borrow from the library and teach yourself some basic knitting techniques. That's how I got started. I bought a book called "Stitch & Bitch: The Knitter's Handbook." It has great diagrams, photos and written instructions to make the process extra easy.
