Half Full

This last week has been a little crazy.

I've spent a good chunk of time sitting around dreary waiting rooms reading outdated magazines and recovering from my first root canal. Ouch. While sitting white-knuckled in the chair, the freezing did not take in one of my nerves. I actually felt the drill. Oh my god. I felt the drill. Double ouch.

In addition to my dental emergency, a routine physical examination on Ryan has revealed that his 5 year old heart has a murmur. We are awaiting a referral to a paediatric cardiologist to rule out congenital heart defects. Apparently this can be quite common (the murmur that is, not the congenital defects) and many people go on to lead healthy active lives. I was instructed to not jump to any conclusions.

For now, I'm choosing to see the glass as half-full.

How do you see your glass?

ouch! sorry to hear about your pain. I have never had a root canal but am just cringing over the thought. I had my wisdom teeth (2 of them) removed a few years ago and that was not a fun experience.

I'm also sorry to hear about your son's heart murmur. I can only imagine what you must be going through. I'm not a mother (yet) but I'm a natural worrier and on occasion have made myself sick with worry. Especially, when I found out about my mother's breast cancer diagnosis last year. I couldn't sleep for days, lost my appetite and saw the glass as half empty. I admire you for seeing the glass as half full. Sending positive vibes your way :)

thank you for the good vibes :)

I'm sorry to hear about your mother. I sincerely hope she is doing ok. I'm sure it must be really hard.

sending lots of good vibes back to you!

Despite making myself ill with worry over my mother's cancer, everything turned out better than I expected. The cancer was caught in the early stages, a lumpectomy was performed, radiation treatment followed and so far so good. Worrying IS a useless emotion :)
