Craziness

The last few days have been a little bit crazy.

It started off last weekend with an irritated, bloodshot eye, which I quickly (and wrongly) diagnosed as pinkeye. It then progressed into something much worse. Lots of swelling and pain. Can you imagine a blood red golf golf ball painfully lodged into your left socket? Then, I was unable to focus. Then, I lost my vision.

It was scary.

In my mind I was officially going blind. I was the victim of an extremely rare, obnoxious disease. I can be a bit melodramatic sometimes. Just a bit.

Two specialists later, I was officially diagnosed with having a severely dry eye. Dry eye? Can do this?

I've known Mark for 10 years, and he never leaves the house without a small bottle of Visine in his pocket. Me? I suffered silently and unquestionably with dry, itchy, eyes for the past year. Not once did it occur to me to seek relief in the form of eye drops.

Silly me.
I have learned my lesson.
I've also learned to never "google" medical symptoms again.

My eye is doing much better. The pain is gone, but I still have yet to regain all of my vision. The doctor thinks it should be back within the next week.

Feeling better, I also made a new bracelet, which I hope to post later today or tomorrow.

Wow! I'm glad to hear that it was nothing too serious C! I had to laugh a bit at your neurotic tendencies (sorry!) as I also share them :) I Google all kinds of medical symptoms and basically try to self diagnose not only myself, but my husband and other family members. Not. a. smart. move.
A similar episode to yours happened to my husband last winter. He assumed it was pink eye so went and got some over the counter antibacterial eye drops but it wasn't helping. After he had an appointment with his physician, he was relieved that it was just dry eyes due to long periods in front of a computer. He actually thought the symptoms had something to do with his Type 1 diabetes. Scary stuff.
Lovely beads on your bracelet!

Glad it was just dry eyes! But I hear your pain. I've run to the eye doctor for some minor stuff because it is just so unclear what is serious. To be an artist without eyes would be scary. Love the new bracelet. That flower bead in the front is gorgeous.
