The Gift

I just received this over the weekend.

My present has finally arrived . A portrait of my beautiful little boys painted by the talented Theresa Maxwell. I first met Theresa during the Beach Studio Tour and was immediately taken with her work. All of her work. Her effortless brushstrokes, rich in colour, full of shadow and light, immediately made my heart skip a beat or two.

My mother and sister (oh they are clever, thoughtful girls) commissioned Theresa for this piece to be done for my birthday. I sent her a few photographs I thought might work, and am completely in awe of the final result. I've spent hours just staring at it. I wish I could describe to you how much better it is in person, but words right now are failing me. The jpeg will have to suffice.

I will treasure this always.

Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!

I agree, very thoughtful!
The painting is gorgeous, like a modern-day Monet the way she has done the grass.

Oh my gosh this is so cool and what a special gift! Love her style of painting and being able to transform a snapshot into a painting so it feels like she witnessed the scene first hand :)
