My Tommy Heart

Every so often you read a book.
Not just any book.
But something that really, really wakes you up.
Or as Ryan would say, it shook my heart.

Last weekend I had my nose buried in the pages of Kazuo Ishiguro’s Never Let Me Go.

I don’t think I’ve ever whipped a book across the room in a fit of rage. But I did.

I felt sad.
Shattered.
Broken.

It was a story I loved/hated reading.

I would have to say he’s an exceptional writer because he made me feel things so intensely. I really want to forget this one, but I don’t think I’ll ever be able to shake it off.

Do you accept what you cannot change and find happiness wherever you can? Or do you fight for something more? Does hope crush you? Or lift you?

Have any books shaken your heart recently?
Please share.

I need to get me a better camera. That is an amazing shot. Kind of like an "altered states" scene.

I haven't read a book/novel in months - shame on me. My husband is a huge bookworm and is recommending that I read, "The girl with the dragon tatoo" ... I'm really curious about this book you've read which caused such a range of emotions. This rarely happens to me via books, mostly movies.

Thank you! That's my little guy posing for me.

Haven't heard of the dragon tatoo. Sounds intriguing!
