Embracing the Fog

The upside of rain.

Chicago

Oh. The weekend.

This was my second visit to Chicago and it is still truly a favourite.

The food!

We brunched at the Publican, feasted at Frontera Grill, and dined at the much-hyped Girl and the Goat (although the food and rushed service didn't quite live up to the hype).

I spent a wonderful couple of hours at the Museum of Contemporary Art and was blown away by Laura Letinsky's beautiful work.

Of course a trip to Chicago wouldn't be complete without a little bit of shopping and some very tired feet :)

It is good to be back home.

On the Road Again

I'm feeling like quite the jetsetter these days.

Tomorrow morning I leave for Chicago with a couple of girlfriends.

They are real foodies.

And more importantly they always make me laugh.

It's been awhile since I've dined in any restaurants that don't serve chicken nuggets.

Or spent the afternoon at an art gallery.

Or shopped.

Or slept in.

Into the Grey

Hwy 99

Although Whistler was constantly enveloped in a sea of falling snow and dense cloud cover, I did get to enjoy the views along Highway 99.
It is also known as the "Sea to Sky" highway.
How poetic is that?

We took our time travelling to and fro along this route and made time for plenty of stops.

I'll post more images over the next few days.

Tripping

We're flying off to Whistler tomorrow.

I can't wait to lose myself in those glorious mountains.

We are going to celebrate our valentines this evening.

At home.

Crowded restaurants and overpriced menus are not our thing.

All it takes is a good bottle of wine and a movie to sweep me off my feet.

Although it is Thursday, it really feels like a Friday.

The boys have a PA day tomorrow and are very excited to be travelling out of town for a hockey tournament.

Staying at a hotel and dining out with a full team of 8 year old boys and their siblings should be very interesting!
