It Can Only Get Better

Oh what a rumpus we had last night.

One little boy got scared after reading the darker bits of Harry Potter.
He climbed into bed.

A short while later, the other one woke up.
And he climbed into bed.

This led to the shoving, the kicking, the squishing, the squashing, and even a punch or two :) I'm feeling rather bruised and battered.

To make my morning that much brighter, my eyeglasses (knocked off from their perch on the night table), were stomped upon into a tangled mess.

But I have got milk for the coffee.
It's going to be ok.

Little Things

They both love to read.
In fact Ryan often gobbles up a chapter book a night.
It is one of the small, but important things I feel I've done right.

You are a Star

We've been very busy this week getting Ryan ready for his "Star of the Week" presentation.
After delivering pizza to his class this afternoon, Ryan asked me to sit down. He then proceeded to surprise me with a repeat of the presentation he made earlier this morning.

And so it began with "Dear Mommy, Mrs. G, and all my fellow classmates......"

Ryan,
Your rhythm and intonation was spot on.
We all laughed at your jokes.
You spoke with such confidence and charisma.
I was bursting with pride.

You shine brighter than any star.
I hope you always know this.

The Boy on the Hill

He's full of surprises.

Last night he gazed into my eyes and told me mine were pretty.
He had the biggest smile.
My heart melted into one big ooey gooey mess.
Just like that.
