Seasons Change

Although we've had record-breaking rainfall this summer, I have been having a delightful time. It hasn't been too hot. We've been outside everyday, soaking it all in and it feels so good. The rain has brought cooler temperatures and great running weather (I needed a good whipping into shape after such a long horrendous winter).

I sometimes wonder if I would enjoy summer as much if I didn't live in an environment where the seasons change so abruptly. How do you feel about the seasons changing? I love the fact that I can enjoy the beauty of spring, summer, autumn and winter, but summer does seem a bit short. Doesn't it?

I've finally had to come to grips with the fact that it is indeed August. I am now looking forward to autumn and feel ready for it, but before I jump into autumn, I thought I'd end my summer designs with a bang. I've got a sneak peak for you and I am so excited (jumping up and down excited) to list it.

It should be in the shop soon!!!!

Love, love, love the necklace!! Did I say I love it?! Those are my favourite colours. Too bad I'm not working at the moment :(

Autumn is my favourite season. I enjoy the crisper yet sunny weather. The changing leaves. The abundance of Ontario grown squash and root vegetables, homemade apple pies, going to an out of town Farmer's Market to get fresh produce and preserves from the Mennonites. It's so much fun!

Summers in TO are not to my liking. I like my summers HOT and dry. After spending many past summers in Greece, I just find it hard to enjoy summers in TO. However, I rather take a summer in TO to a winter. I dislike winter a great deal...dry itchy skin, static cling clothes, packing on the pounds...whats to like? Nevertheless, my birthday is in the winter so I guess that's one thing to look forward to.

Well, it is hard to compare a summer in TO to summers in Greece (lucky you!!!) I haven't been there since my backpacking (pink palace) days.

I also love Autumn!!!!

In the summer, you have to go to the public pools. I haven't been since I was a kid, and have just stared going back this year. Amazing. The one near my house is even heated and never ever crowded!!! How perfect is that?

Charlene, I hope I didn't come across as sounding arrogant about my not liking summer in TO. That was not my intention. I went back to my comment and re-read it and realized that it sounded a bit snooty. Anyway, I just wanted to clarify.

The swimming pool you go to sounds wonderful. How lucky to have a pool almost all to yourself ;) I have been going to the YMCA and using their indoor pool for AquaFit lately but it is always crowded and noisy.

Curious about "pink palace" - I've never heard that expression before.

I didn't think you sounded snooty at all!

Pink palace is a legendary backpacking hostel on Corfu - the stuff of legend if you are between the ages of 18-22. It's basically a hostel full of drunk students on a very pretty beach. I didn't like the hostel, but I loved Greece.

Corfu sounds like a fun island. I have met many people that have been to Corfu and have heard some wonderful stories about the island. I was in Santorini last September and wasn't all that impressed with it. I found it very touristy, noisy and dirty. The island of Milos on the other hand was a paradise. I've been to Greece 8 times but that's because I have family there :)
