Walking Home

I love walking Ryan home from school.

Hearing his little stories
holding his hand
walking along.

Today he was the appointed "leader" of his class. An extraordinary event in the daily life of a 5-year old. He insisted on wearing his crown all the way home. We received many curious glances on this particularly fine day.

Can you see the Godzilla beside his name? Yes. That is indeed a Godzilla.

It's late September.
Sunny.
25 degrees.
And the light is so warm and beautiful.

Happy September! Hope you are having a fine day!

Just Listen

to this.....

If I could create something as beautiful as this, I think my heart would simply burst from the sheer joy of it.

Experimenting

More shots of Georgian Bay last weekend. I've purposefully given these photos a distressed, dark, grainy look. I am so pleased with the results!

I plan to gift these to the owners of the cottage who graciously invited our noisy crew onto their beautiful island.

Special Days

We spent last weekend immersed in the beauty of Georgian Bay. It would be impossible to express in words how much I love this land with its ink blue lakes, weathered boulders, and windblown trees.

Here are some pics from our beautiful weekend.....

We swam

and played

looked for the mysterious leaf monster (again)

caught up on some reading

and had some quite time.

It was just what we needed as

chaos
lies
ahead.

We've been grappling for some time now with the idea of a move and have finally decided to put our house up for sale. We plan to sell first, buy later. I now have to begin packing up 3/4 of our house to ready it for public viewing, find a new home, and do the other one million things that need to get done each and every single day.

The Proposal

"Mommy, can I marry you when I get to be a grownup?" asked a smiling Kyle.

Inquiring minds want to know.

I have no intentions of marrying my 3 year old son, but I am going to package up this moment and hold onto it.

Tightly.
Forever.

Love is such a beautiful thing. It blows my mind really.

"Together" is available for sale right here.

Poised

At the outdoor farmer's market today, we were being watched. Thousands of pigeons were perched effortlessly up above. In the clouds. Waiting for handouts.

Homemade cupcakes and organic grapes.
We had the best of afternoons.

Hope you did too!

Just Do It

Well, I have finally taken the plunge.

I have been stalking DrikaB's shop for awhile now - completely unable to make a decision. I want to purchase her entire line of seriously gorgeous handbags.

So......for the sake of preserving my marriage , I've narrowed my choice down to one.

This is mine now.

I cannot wait until it is in my very own hands!!!!!

Meet Ryan

He is 5 years old.
So unbelievably curious
and wise beyond his years.
He loves soccer and dinosaurs.
He's got me helplessly wrapped around his little finger.

He also has a wonderfully strong and healthy heart.

After having 50+ pictures taken of his heart last week, we received confirmation that all of his chambers and valves are in glorious working condition.

There are no little holes.
Everything is beating as it should,
pumping life into this little package I love so much.

Life could not be better.

Oh the Excitement!

My treasury list made it to the front page of Etsy this morning. Hooray!!! Believe it or not, I find this more exciting than having my own work featured.

I missed it (of course), but it is still such an unbelievable feeling. My dreams of becoming an art gallery curator were momentarily fulfilled which added a touch of happiness to my day.

Congrats to all the artists in the list!

He Finally Said Yes

......to potty training.

I will be quiet on the blogfront this week while I'm knee-deep in the trenches of toilet-training Kyle.

I hope to resurface in a few days into a

bright
sunny
diaper-free
frontier.

Wish me luck :)

A Good Day

Thanks to marieflyfly, I made it to the front page of Etsy today! I was thrilled to be in her curation, because:

1) I love her design sense - her jewelry is stunning in a beautiful, simplistic way (as are her treasury curations)

and

2) I was in the good company of irenesuchoki and strangefascination. I am the proud owner of prints from both of their shops. Their artistic genius never fails to impress.

It is also a good day, because I have 2 hours to myself this afternoon which I haven't had in weeks. I almost don't know what to do with all this freedom, but the studio is calling my name so I must depart.

Enjoy the rest of your week!

An addendum...........

"A good day" just got better.

I'm almost embarrassed to say that I made the front page again this evening. You must look at this beautiful list curated by Etsy's fiveforty. She has created so many fantastic lists that it is difficult to pick a favourite. And the name? Forest Thicket in the Tundra Dune. *swoons*
Thank you Pegg.

New Beginnings

Yesterday was Ryan's first day of Senior Kindergarden. I had a cute little outfit (freshly laundered), his backpack packed, we ate a nice nutritious lunch, and left the house 15 minutes early (with camera in hand) to get there on time. I've always believed that it is important to get a proper start.

We
were
15 mins
late

.....on the first day!!!!!

le sigh

I had the times mixed up.

Why is it that I never quite feel like I have this motherhood thing all under control?

Thankfully, I've had better luck in the studio. Here are some sneak peeks!
